This is a handmade free form style ring in sterling silver with a rainbow moonstone. In the years since I've become a jeweller, I've been inspired by a variety of styles of vintage jewellery. One of my preferred ones is a free form wave style commonly used in the 40's and 50's. So, I decided to experiment a bit, and viola! This ring is a stock size 7 and is made in .925 sterling silver(92.5% fine silver & 7.5% copper) and has been set with a 6x8mm faceted stone. The band is 5mm wide with a top 11mm wide and 6mm high.
To understand rainbow moonstone, one must first come to terms with the fact that this mineral is more closely related to labradorite than it is to what is traditionally known as moonstone. In fact, rainbow moonstone is white labradorite. The confusion (or falsification, depending on which way you look at it) arises for two reasons. The most obvious reason is that white labradorite’s flashes of blue and rainbow colors resemble that of quality moonstone. The other reason is that both labradorite and moonstone belong to the feldspar group of minerals, and are chemically and physically very close. Moonstone is an orthoclase feldspar, while labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar.
Rainbow moonstone’s energy is decidedly feminine and relates to the lunar principle. This is a stone for inner peace and harmony and engenders joy, confidence and optimism. It is considered to possess a very gentle, calming and grounding energy that helps to heal emotional wounds, overcome grief, shock and trauma and cope with stress.

The stock items I make are mostly made in either sterling silver or antique bronze. The sterling silver, or .925 silver as some know it as, is 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper which is the classic sterling silver. No rhodium or nickle plating touches my stuff! The antique bronze is the classic bronze that the bronze age was named for. It contains 90% copper and 10% tin. The bronze can turn your skin green due to the oxidization caused by the copper to the salt and sweat of your skin, but can be easily rectified with either clear enamel or the classic clear nail polish trick! I also offer custom orders in gold and in stainless steel, so if you see something in my shop you want in either, let me know!
Sadly no. The cost of sterling silver and bronze chains would end up raising the price of my jewellery, so in stead I sell them separately on my shop section for chains and engraving.
